Working with Cheri has provided me with the direction I so dearly needed.  Recently, I found myself at a crossroads with my career while trying to balance training for Ironman Wisconsin.  Balancing a career with the riggers of an Ironman training schedule requires great focus and Cheri has helped me find that focus.

Having focus requires a clear mind.  If you have distractions in your life it is very difficult to prioritize those things in your life that are most important to you.  Cheri has, not only, helped me identify those distractions but has worked with me to take the necessary steps to clear those distractions allowing me to lead a much more balanced life.

Cheri is the perfect solution for any driven individual who has a burning desire to succeed.  Finding the perfect balance between work, training and family is not easy but working with a coach like Cheri will provide you with the tools for success.

"You spend hours, weeks and even years training your body to achieve your athletic goals. Mental skill's training is often overlooked and it is that one thing that will give you the greatest edge to that of your competitor. The ability to concentrate, control stress and emotions, have a positive attitude, and be mentally  tough are not necessarily natural traits. In order to race with these psychological skills we must first know how to utilize them in our training. Working with Athletic Mind, LLC/Cheri Cope, MS, will give you the starting tools to maximize your mental training. So what are you waiting for?"

"You are in control of your mind, so make it work for you!"

I have known Cheri for about a year and a half, and she has been helping me with the mental part of my tennis game.  Before I started playing with her, I was an average player with an average record on junior varsity.  I used to get so nervous before playing a match, and it always hurt the way I played.  Cheri has helped me keep my head in the right place with positive self-talk, and my tennis game has greatly improved.  I am now a varsity singles player, my record couldn't be better, and I have Cheri to thank for it!  I could not be where I am today without her!"

Top reasons why I THRIVE! with Cheri Cope as my life coach:
1. I have more ideas than time, money and energy to complete them. A few minutes of coaching with Cheri helps "see" everything that is running through my head and pave a path of actions through them.
2. Cheri provides a neutral perspective and accepting ears in which I can clearly commit to doing something.
3. Weekly check-ins causes my own desire to hold myself accountable and follow through to kick in.
4. Getting things done becomes totally fun. I see them as complete steps toward my new goals.
5. I feel a great sense of accomplishment. By stopping weekly to voice the steps I have completed, I become aware that I am moving forward and creating new things in my life.  This increased sense of accomplishment gives me strength to keep going through challenges with my personal power. My predominate thought is "I am doing it!" From that thought, it is easy to keep going, creating, enjoying my life with the people I connect with.

"Cheri has not only been an outlet for me to vent my frustrations, express my fears and acknowledge my accomplishments, she has been a calming force.  Cheri makes it possible to free your mind of outside distractions and simply concentrate on the task or event at hand.  Her excellence in providing the framework for developing, nurturing, and maintaining confidence is astonishing. Even when you think there is nothing that needs attention, Cheri gracefully guides you into self-discovery that allows you to excavate any past and/or current self-defeating tendendcies.  Her mental skills training has helped me professionally as well as athletically.  I am currently training for the Ironman and I am looking forward to her program being a part of my training."

"My name is Dwight Sandvold.  I am a licensed Athletic Trainer and owner of F.A.S.T. - Fitness and Sports Training LLC.  I have worked in the Sports Medicine and Performance field for over 20 years designing programs and testing and evaluating athletes.

Although I have done over 100 triathlons, including the Ironman World Championships, I am always looking for ways to advance my skills.  I met Cheri Cope and knowing that mental conditioning is a much underutilized component of training, entrusted her with the mental preparation for my season.

I am happy to report that with Cheri's guidance, I was able to show up at the start line with reduced anxiety, and increased confidence.  Importantly, I was also able to balance training, my family and business allowing me to enjoy the experience.

If your goal is to take your abilities to the next level or you are looking for the solution to performance anxiety, I highly recommend the Athletic Mind.  Your time with Cheri is an investment in your most important piece of equipment, the mind."

Sincerely,
Dwight Sandvold - LAT
